In a powerful partnership between the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Enforcement Bureau (EB) and Virginia Commonwealth University’s College of Engineering (VCU-CoE), Project CYPHER (Cybersecurity and Privacy Harnessing Engineering & Research) invites you to be part of an elite fellowship—Project CYPHER-Bridge.

Program Overview

Project CYPHER-Bridge is more than a summer program, it’s an immersive research experience that empowers you to shape the future of digital security. Dive deep into IoT behavioral forensics and data science, and contribute to research with real-world policy implications at the federal level. This is your chance to be part of work that transcends the classroom and directly informs how we secure connected devices and digital infrastructure.

Who Can Apply?

Project CYPHER-Bridge is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are students at a CVN institution. We’re looking for rising juniors, seniors, or master’s students majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.8 for undergraduate students or 3.2 for master’s students to ensure they are prepared for the challenges this program offers.

Program Perks

Commit 10 weeks in Washington, D.C. and earn $20/hr while gaining valuable real-world experience.
