“My internship with the Virginia State Police has been both challenging and rewarding. As my first professional experience in cybersecurity, it’s been eye-opening to work directly with lieutenants and colonels and sit in on high-level meetings where real-world cybersecurity decisions are made. I’ve been contributing to cybersecurity awareness efforts while working toward my ISC2 ‘Certified in Cybersecurity’ certification, and the hands-on experience has deepened my understanding of how cybersecurity supports public safety and critical infrastructure.”
