MOTIVATION FOR CVCSA

Cybersecurity has a barrier for entry.
Students often experience a skills gap between what they learn in school and listed job requirements. Entry-level jobs often require three to five years of experience.
University cybersecurity clubs make an effort to close this gap but have limited resources and vary widely in their approach and governance.
The Coastal Virginia Cybersecurity Student Association aims to bolster these exisiting organizations by partnering with them to provide shared events and make students at different colleges part of a single community.
