MOTIVATION FOR CVCSA
- Cybersecurity has a barrier for entry.
- Students often experience a skills gap between what they learn in school and listed job requirements. Entry-level jobs often require three to five years of experience.
- University cybersecurity clubs make an effort to close this gap but have limited resources and vary widely in their approach and governance.
- The Coastal Virginia Cybersecurity Student Association aims to bolster these exisiting organizations by partnering with them to provide shared events and make students at different colleges part of a single community.
