Background
Eyuphan Bulut is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Richmond, VA, USA. Before joining VCU, he worked as a Senior Engineer within the Mobile Internet Technology Group (MITG) in Cisco Systems, Richardson, TX, USA, for 4.5 years. He received the Ph.D. degree in the Computer Science department of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY, USA, in 2011. His research interests include wireless networks and mobile computing/sensing, cybersecurity of networking systems, cyber-physical systems, NextG/5G systems, Internet of Things (IoT) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). His recent focus is on wireless/WiFi sensing with applications in health-care, agriculture and smart home/city systems. His research has been funded by various agencies including NSF, INL, NIH, CHRB, CCI and industry, and has resulted in 100+ publications. Dr. Bulut is an Associate Editor in Elsevier Ad Hoc Networks and IEEE Access, and has been serving in the organizing committee of several conferences including IEEE Local Computer Networks (LCN), IEEE Mobile Ad hoc and Smart Systems (MASS), and IEEE Resilience Week. He is the recipient of IEEE Percom 2020 Best Demo Award, and IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS) 2012 Best (spotlight) paper award. He is a senior member of IEEE and a member of ACM.
