Low-cost and Long-lasting Soil Moisture Sensing with WiFi Signals and Energy Harvesting
PI Eyuphan Bulut, Ph.D.
This research aims to create a cost-effective, reliable soil moisture sensor for better agricultural water use.
The proposed solution utilizes “WiFi sensing” principles, analyzing WiFi signal data to measure soil moisture, and harnesses microbial fuel cells for energy. The goal is to create a working prototype and test its performance in various field conditions, aligning with the focus on cyber-physical systems and IoT devices.
